Is Greek yoghurt safe in pregnancy?
Generally safe
Yes — Greek yoghurt is safe and a great protein source.
What the evidence says
Greek yoghurt is safe and actively recommended in pregnancy. It provides protein, calcium, and beneficial probiotics. Check the label to confirm it is made from pasteurised milk (nearly all UK supermarket Greek yoghurt is).
Why this matters
Pasteurisation eliminates Listeria risk. The high protein content is particularly valuable in pregnancy.
