Is Turkey safe in pregnancy?
Generally safe
Yes — safe when cooked thoroughly.
What the evidence says
Turkey is safe in pregnancy when cooked through until the juices run clear. The same rules apply as for chicken — no pink meat, steaming hot throughout. Cooked sliced turkey from packets is fine; deli-counter sliced turkey is subject to the same Listeria concerns as other deli meats and is best heated before eating.
Why this matters
Raw or undercooked turkey can carry Salmonella and Campylobacter. Cooking destroys them.
