Is Lobster safe in pregnancy?

Generally safe

Yes — cooked lobster is safe in pregnancy.

What the evidence says

Thoroughly cooked lobster is safe during pregnancy. The same rules apply as for all shellfish: cook through until the shell turns bright red and the flesh is firm and opaque.

Why this matters

Cooking destroys bacterial risks. Lobster mercury levels are within safe limits.
